The Life of Soror Essie Rowser
Soror Essie Rowser received her high school diploma from U.S. Jones High School in Demopolis, Alabama, her B.S. Degree in Nursing from Grady Nursing School in Atlanta, Georgia and her Master's Degree in North Carolina. Essie worked in administration with the state of Georgia for thirty-three (33) years. During that time, she started a business in Parliamentary and she joined the U.S. Army Reserve for twenty years where she retired with the rank of Colonel.
Soror Essie Rowser was inducted into Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc, through Pi Chapter in 1968 after meeting Soror Helen Miller who was Chairman of the School of Nursing. She transferred to Gamma Chi Chapter in 1970.
At the local level she served as: Tamias, Tamiochus, 6th Basileus of Gamma Chi 1974-1978, 9th Basileus of Gamma Chi, Chairman of Scrapbook Committee, Chair AIDS Project, Co-Chair of Nurse Week Luncheon, Chair of Bylaws, Parliamentarian, 1980&1988 Soror of the Year.
At the Regional level: Assistant Regional Director, Chairman of Bylaws Committee, Member of Program and Projects Committee, Parliamentarian
At the National Level: Chairman of National Bylaws, Chairman of National Handbook Committee, National Secretary, 12th Supreme Basileus 1981
