PRESIDENT

Welcome,

Thank you for visiting the site of Gamma Chi Chapter, Incorporated. We are the Atlanta, Georgia chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated®, a national, professional organization for Registered Nurses and Nursing Students.

Guided by the motto, “Service for Humanity,” we are dedicated and committed to upholding the mission and vision of our great organization. Our chapter takes pride in giving back to our communities by providing disease prevention and health promotion activities and events throughout the Metro Atlanta area. For example, our chapter’s signature community event is our annual health fair that is held annually in an underserved area of West Atlanta. During this event, participants are provided with health care education, services, and screenings that many of them do not have access to such as blood pressure and diabetes screenings, dental hygiene education and supplies, SIDS education, and HIV testing, just to name a few. Our chapter awards Nursing scholarships and research grants annually as a part of our Nurse Week celebration. We partner with several community organizations to provide volunteer nursing services and assistance during annual events, for example, the Sisters by Choice Pink Ribbon Walk, AIDS Walk Atlanta, Relay for Life, and the annual Sickle Cell Walk.

Gamma Chi Chapter participates with National programs, projects, and initiatives such as Hypertension Screenings, Leadership Development, Programs for Youth and Young Adults, Programs for Seniors, and Community Health Outreach Programs. Additionally, we have local programs and projects such as Homeless Outreach, Sisterhood/Brotherhood activities, and the “Taste of Gamma Chi,” which is an annual fundraiser to contribute to the American Heart Association during heart health month.

Again, we are pleased that you visited our site and hope that you enjoy learning about our organization. You may contact us for information about joining or visit the National website, www.chietaphi.org to learn more about the organization’s history, mission, vision, programs and projects.

Thank you,
Mary Walker, BSN, RN-BC, Retired
