Disease Prevention & Health Promotion

Health screenings: Programs are developed to identify potential and actual health problems in targeted populations. An appropriate list of referral s for medical supervision of identified problems is provided.

Consumer Health Education: Seminars are conducted in the community for professionals and laymen addressing health issues that are problems or potential problems in that community.

Cancer Prevention Education: In collaboration with the American Cancer Society, provides public education and screening programs for those in high-risk groups.

Educational Scholarships

One of the Sorority's major programs is the provision of financial assistance to nursing students who meet the established criteria.

Leadership Development

Leadership development seminars are designed to assist the membership in the development of effective leadership skills, thus implementing one of the Sorority's goals: to develop a core of nursing leaders.

Recruitment & Retention

Programs are provided to promote the interest of potential students in nursing careers. Financial and tutorial services are provided in addition to members serving as mentors and role models to matriculating students in nursing.

Programs for the Elderly

Various services are provided to senior citizens, such as travel assistance, health education, assistance in accessing the health care system, and a system of checking on the well being of the elderly who live alone.
